This depiction of the character, is a bit out of my penchant for doing glamorous, or sexy pinups, but not totally unknown in my 30 years of doing Sci-Fi/Fantasy characters...
Here is the story...
The Dea ex Cruciata is a powerful goddess who started out as something comparable to Greek/Roman gods and lost her mind and became something very much Lovecraftian instead.
Even though she used to be stunningly beautiful, she's still not completely hideous as she is now. She's tall with a purple hue to her flesh. Long, long black hair that tends to fall over the right half of her face because her right eye is cracked like glass, so she glares with her left.
There's a lot of sinister smiling and teeth grinding, her mouth is very animated. Her chest and some of her stomach have bloodied bandages wrapped around and these bandages trail out behind her and are attached to the severed hands of angels that she has control over.
Her skirt is messy, tattered patchwork. Her most drawing feature I think would be the giant rusted blade-claws at the ends of her wrists.
The setting is a cathedral, where she sits on her throne. Pain and suffering is what you will have when you are unforunate enough to end up in the netherworld existance she resides.
A poem about her is here [link]
