is of the lead character of Rebecca Heineman's "Sailor Ranko" web comic series [link] of the 10th Senshi, Sailor Sun, to join the Sailor Moon crew, and, fight the demons and youmas trying to take over Tokyo...In the story, Sun was a reject long ago, trying out as a Senshi, and, spent time on a space station, trying to absorb and utilize the power of the sun. In the end, she is accepted as one of the Senshi. But, there's a secret she's hiding... (read it to find out) In this depiction, I drew on experience doing astronomical art, for the solar prominences on the sun's surface to get the feel for what her transformation might be like...
